...HEAVY PRECIPITATION AND POSSIBLE FLOODING TO IMPACT THE REGION
FROM THIS WEEKEND INTO NEXT WEEK...

MULTIPLE PACIFIC STORMS WILL IMPACT THE REGION FROM FRIDAY THROUGH
MID NEXT WEEK. THESE STORMS...TAPPING INTO A DEEP STREAM OF
MOISTURE...WILL BRING HEAVY RAINFALL ACROSS THE CENTRAL VALLEY
AND SIERRA FOOTHILLS...AND VERY HEAVY SNOWFALL TO THE HIGH SIERRA.

THE FIRST STORM WILL ARRIVE FRIDAY AFTERNOON WITH INCREASING
PRECIPITATION...ESPECIALLY INTO THE FOOTHILLS AND SIERRA.
SNOWFALL IN THE SIERRA WILL BECOME QUITE HEAVY AND CONTINUE AT
TIMES THROUGH THE WEEKEND. 

POTENTIAL PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS THROUGH MONDAY:

*1 TO 3 INCHES OF RAINFALL IN THE SAN JOAQUIN VALLEY...WITH THE
 LESSER TOTALS IN THE RAIN SHADOWED SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THE VALLEY

*5 TO 10 INCHES OF RAINFALL IN THE SIERRA FOOTHILLS

*5 TO 10 FEET OF SNOWFALL ABOVE 7000 FEET IN THE SIERRA NEVADA

FLOODING PROBLEMS COULD DEVELOP IN THE FOOTHILLS AND THE LOWER
ELEVATIONS OF THE SIERRA...INCLUDING POSSIBLE ROCK AND MUD SLIDES.
SMALLER CREEKS AND STREAMS COULD ALSO SEE RAPID RISES AND FLOODING.
IN THE SAN JOAQUIN VALLEY...WIDESPREAD URBAN AND SMALL STREAM
FLOODING WILL BE POSSIBLE...AGGRAVATED BY POOR DRAINAGE DUE TO
LEAVES AND OTHER DEBRIS.

ADDITIONAL WAVES OF PRECIPITATION WILL MOVE ACROSS THE REGION AT
TIMES THROUGH AT LEAST THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK...POSSIBLY 
AGGRAVATING ANY ONGOING FLOODING PROBLEMS.
