Now...National weather service doppler radar indicated rain...Showers and scattered thunderstorms moving into the state from Alabama. This activity was moving to the northeast around 45 miles an hour. The rain and thunderstorms will continue to move across portions of north and central Georgia throughout the morning hours. The heaviest rainfall will be approaching areas in and near the cities of lafayette...Adairsville...Taylorsville...Marietta...Chapel hill...Union city...Atlanta...Forrest park...Sunny side and griffin over the next hour or so. Brief gusty winds of 30 to 40 mph and dangerous cloud-to-ground lightning can be expected with some of the stronger storms.
