Now...A large area of showers and scattered thunderstorms will continue to lift across central Iowa tonight. Periods moderate to heavy downpours will occur and will limit visibilities during nighttime driving. One quarter to one half inch of rain is possible in some of the heavier downpours over the next several hours. The stronger storms are located along a line from near humboldt to perry to des moines to chariton. Another area of heavier showers and thunderstorms is located along a line from near carroll to corning. The showers and thunderstorms are moving north at 35 mph.
