THE WARMEST TEMPERATURES OF THE YEAR SO FAR HAVE MOVED INTO THE REGION...PROMPTING SIGNIFICANT MELTING OF HIGH ELEVATION SNOW. THIS WILL RESULT IN RAPID RISES OF MANY STREAMS THAT ORIGINATE IN THE MOUNTAINS...WITH FLOODING POSSIBLE ON MANY OF THEM. THESE HIGH FLOWS WILL WORK DOWNSTREAM...EVENTUALLY CAUSING RISING LEVELS ON MAIN STEM RIVERS LATER THIS WEEK. THOSE WITH INTERESTS NEAR MOUNTAIN STREAMS SHOULD REMAIN ALERT FOR QUICKLY RISING WATER LEVELS AND FAST CURRENTS. IT IS ALSO IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER THAT THE WATER IN THESE STREAMS IS COMING FROM MELTING SNOW AND WILL BE VERY COLD. HYPOTHERMIA MAY BE A RISK TO ANYONE WORKING OR PLAYING IN THE WATER.
