...HEAVY RAINFALL FROM GUSTAV TO AFFECT PORTIONS OF CENTRAL
ILLINOIS INTO THIS EVENING...

TROPICAL DEPRESSION GUSTAV WILL MOVE NORTHEASTWARD FROM CENTRAL
ARKANSAS TO SOUTHERN MISSOURI BY SUNRISE TODAY...THEN INTO
WESTERN ILLINOIS THIS AFTERNOON. ALTHOUGH THE WINDS AND OTHER
TROPICAL CHARACTERISTICS WITH GUSTAV WILL BE WEAKENING...VERY RICH
MOISTURE WILL FLOW INTO THE MIDWEST. HEAVY RAINFALL WILL BE LIKELY
ALONG THE PATH OF THE LOW PRESSURE REMNANTS OF GUSTAV AS IT MOVES
NORTH.

EXPECT RAIN TO INCREASE OVER CENTRAL ILLINOIS THIS MORNING AND
CONTINUE INTO THIS EVENING. STORM TOTAL RAINFALL FOR THE PERIOD
MAY REACH 2 TO 4 INCHES ALONG AND NORTHWEST OF THE I-55 CORRIDOR...
WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE. THE MAIN IMPACTS WILL BE
RISES ALONG AREA RIVERS AND STREAMS...HOWEVER THERE IS THE
POSSIBILITY OF ISOLATED FLASH FLOODING IF A STABLE HEAVY RAIN BAND
DEVELOPS AND SITS OVER ONE SPOT FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS.

PEOPLE WHO LIVE NEAR STREAM BASINS AND OTHER LOW SPOTS SHOULD
MONITOR THE WEATHER AND PREPARE FOR POSSIBLE RIVER FLOODING.
