Tropical Storm Emily Headed for Texas
The current path of Tropical Storm Emily takes her over the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico sometime early Monday morning. If she poses a threat at all to the United States, it will be to the Brownsville - Corpus Christi area of Texas.
Meanwhile, the sixth and possibly the seventh tropical storms are continuing to brew in the eastern Atlantic ocean. It’s likely that we’ll have a sixth tropical depression by sometime on Friday.
If indeed Emily follows her path to Texas, and Dennis breaks up over the Midwest, as is forecast, the metro Atlanta area will probably see a few days of warmer weather. The tropical pattern we’ve been seeing has had the saving grace (if you can call it that, with record rainfall) of keeping the temperatures out of the 90 degree range. National Weather Service predictions call for warmer weather over the next six to ten days.
