Small Chance for Weather Problems in Gwinnett This Week
The latest forecasts indicate that despite the likely chance that we’ll get about an inch of precipitation before noontime on Thursday, it’s unlikely to be in the form of snow, ice, or freezing rain. Even though we have a similar weather pattern to what we saw last weekend, the cold air wedge isn’t as powerful as it was last weekend. At this point, the freezing line looks like it will stay up around the Georgia / North Carolina border.
The Weather Service has issued a weather special weather statement advising of the possibility of a wintry mix for the Toccoa, Blairsville, and Clayton areas, and has included Hall County in the advisory as well.
Of course, this is a bit of CYA from the weather service. If they thought something was really imminent, they would have done a winter storm watch or warning.
