January 24th - Coldest Morning in Two Years
As I write this, the temperature outside reads 14.8 degrees, which makes this the coldest morning recorded in Lawrenceville so far in 2005. It’s also the coldest morning of the winter season, beating the 16.9 we recorded on December 20th, and just a hair above the 14.4 degree temperature recorded coincidentally on this date in 2003.
It’s not a record, though. That belongs to the -3 degrees recorded in 1963.
Other area temperatures, recorded at 6 AM:
Atlanta: 17
Athens: 15
Chamblee: 15
Gainesville: 17
Newnan: 9
Peachtree City: 13
Winder: 19
For the record, the temperature ultimately dropped down to 14.6 degrees at 7:52 AM.
